Introduction
The word "pointman", and the symbol in our emblem at the top of each page, comes from the principle of a person being out in front, leading the way forward.
Accredited Pointman Instructors, both men and women, will guide you through the time tested character traits that make an effective leader.
" Welcome to the Pointman UK Website. The Pointman Leadership Institute offers leadership training that you will not find anywhere else. It aims to develop the person’s character first so that they will have the strength to lead and be credible, and then give them tools with which to lead. This principle has been successfully applied in over 30 countries. We hope you enjoy this site and find the information you want. If you think Pointman training is for you or your organization, please contact us. "
History of PLI

The Pointman Leadership Institute (PLI) began when the retired Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, ROBERT VERNON, was asked to provide ethical leadership training to senior officials in former Soviet Block countries.
Pointman UK was founded in 1999 as a springboard for seminars in Europe, specifically eastern European countries. A multinational training programme recruited Pointman from many countries with the result that foreign trips will often consist of a Director and 2 Instructors drawn from more than one country of origin. Within the UK Pointman seminars have been delivered to a range of organisations including the Royal Air Force, Head Teachers, Health Care Authorities, Police and Church. In 2004 almost eight hundred UK delegates have received our leadership training. We are hoping for a similar number this year. For an indication of the most recent PLI events, go to the Whats New Page
