John Slater.
I have been involved in Law Enforcement for 32 years. Iretired from Scotland Yard as a Chief Superintendent having worked in both strategic and operational commands as well as in the Home Office and representing the UK police at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. I have been lecturing in ethics in the UK and abroad for over 15 years in over 20 countries and I was a founder member of Pointman. I am a grandfather with 2 adult daughters.

David Kendrick.
David Kendrick OBE, QPM, is a retired Commander in the Metropolitan Police in London. He served for 36 years in London and for the past six years as a consultant for the British Government on policing abroad. He has advised on a major police reform programme in Jamaica in the West Indies. He is a trustee of a local Drug Rehabilitation Centre and a Management Committee Member of the local Victim Support Scheme. He has worked with Pointman in Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, Albania, Lithuania, Estonia and the U.S.A. at the FBI Academy. He has been married for 40 years and he has three children and three grandchildren. He has been a Pointman for five years.

Mike Askew
Mike Askew is an operational police superintendent. He was project manager for developing Leadership Principles within his force and author of his force's Supervision Guide, which has been issued to all police supervisors and managers. Mike has worked in Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Russia, South Africa and USA with Pointman. He has a Master of Science degree (MSc) in Operations Management.

Sir Laurence New
Sir Laurence New
Major General New served in tanks throughout his regimental career, in Hong Kong, Rhine Army, Canada, Malaya and Borneo. He served in Israel and thereafter held tri-service appointments in the Ministry of Defence culminating in Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff Operational Requirements. He served for five years as Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man. Subsequently he was CEO of the Forces Pension Society and Director of the successful War Widows Parliamentary Campaign. He is a director of a civil engineering company. He is married with two sons, two daughters and two grand sons. He has presented Pointman seminars in South Africa, the Ukraine, Albania, Lithuania, Romania and the British Isles.
"It has been said, and I agree with it, that the ultimate aim of all leadership study is to discover what makes us capable of exercising our position as a head of affairs for the good of our fellows."
PLI Instructors.
All of our Instructors are selected on the basis of their personal integrity, as well as their ability to deliver the material in an engaging fashion. A presentation Team will usually comprise one UK Director assisted by two Instructors.
Richard Wiggins (picture right), himself an Instructor, conducts much of the administration that keeps the Pointman Teams on the move. He will be involved in much of the practical arrangements.
